Leeds City Council Early Years Service is committed to providing support for continuous professional development to the private, voluntary and independent sectors (PVI).
We are supported in this by a Government Grant, the Sure Start Early Years and Childcare Grant, which is available in 2010/11 and can be used to
fund training for the PVI sectors.
This allows us to subsidise fees for many courses offered locally, offering them to early years and play employers for much-reduced rates.
It also includes the Graduate Leader Fund for supporting graduate qualifications and achievement of Early Years Professional Status.
We also employ Officers dedicated to providing training courses, and are glad to be able to offer some courses free of charge at present.
One of our challenges is to provide training at a wide variety of times of day and days of the week. We have listened to those in the workforce who tell us they need more variety, and we have aimed to offer a range of course times, including Saturday and ‘twilight’ sessions whenever possible.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BOOK A PLACE ON
ANY COURSE YOU WANT TO ATTEND!
You may reserve places on the telephone but you must also
complete an application form to finally book a place.
People often arrive at courses without booking a place and trainers usually have to turn them away.
